This was the first aspect of editing my footage. I had to import all of my clips and they then opened in a window on the side of final cut so I could just drag them in onto my timeline when needed. 
Here is a screen shot of my footage on the timeline. Here I put them onto different layers so that I could then move them around or edit them when i wanted to. 
Here are 3 screen shots of footage I have taken then added transitions in. I used editing tools to speed up clips like this first one to show panic and a quick pace of editing amongst my footage.
For this shot I used the slplit screen tool to put two clips together, one on top of the other. I then faded out the image on the left to create a ghostly and weird feeling. 
Here in this shot I used a transition called cross disolve to create this look.
